Quick Start with Scheme
In HeronTool's color scheme tool, first select your base color. Click the color wheel or enter a hex code to lock the primary hue. The tool instantly generates a corresponding palette, displayed in the right panel. Three steps: pick, preview, and export.
Using the Three Scheme Modes
Complementary: One click gives you the color 180° opposite your base, ideal for high-contrast designs. Click the "Complementary" tab, and the system automatically creates a two-color combination (primary + complement). Adjust brightness to fit backgrounds or text.
Analogous: Select "Analogous" mode. The tool shows 3-5 colors within a 30° range of the base, producing a soft, natural gradient. Drag the slider to fine-tune hue intervals, perfect for brand visuals or UI gradients.
Triadic: Switch to "Triadic" mode. HeronTool auto-calculates three colors equally spaced (120°). Rotate the color wheel to shift the overall tone, and adjust each color's saturation individually to keep balance without harshness.
Export and Practice
After finalizing, click "Export" to save as CSS variables, SVG, or PNG. Apply the palette directly to web design, PPT, or illustrations. Compare foreground/background contrast using the tool's brightness indicator for better readability.

Q: How to save multiple palettes? Click the bookmark icon on a palette card to store it in your local "My Color Library".
Q: How to choose for color-blind users? Use the "Simulate" feature to preview color-blind views, and prefer combinations with strong brightness differences.
Q: Can I extract colors from an image? Not yet, but you can pick a color from an image as your base, then expand with Analogous mode.
