Quick Start
Open the “Count” tool on HeronTool, paste your text into the input box, or upload a .txt file directly. The tool instantly displays line count, word count, character count (with/without spaces), and byte count. No extra setup is needed—all content is counted by default.
Counting Occurrences
To count how often a specific word or phrase appears, type the target text in the “Find” field and click “Count.” All matches will be highlighted, and the total number of occurrences is shown. Options for case-sensitive and whole-word matching are available, ideal for code or academic texts.
Batch Processing & Export
HeronTool’s “Count” supports processing multiple files at once: click “Upload Multiple” to select files, and results appear in a table with statistics for each file. Click “Export CSV” to download the results for further analysis or archiving.
FAQ
Q: Do the results include punctuation?
A: Character count includes punctuation by default, but you can check “Exclude punctuation” in Options to count only letters and digits.
Q: Can it count Chinese words?
A: Yes. The tool splits by spaces and punctuation; for Chinese, it counts consecutive character sequences. For more precision, add spaces between words.
Q: Will large files cause lag?
A: HeronTool is optimized—text up to 10MB is counted in real time. For larger files, process them in batches.
